LexiFloat is free to use. These terms are short because the app does very little on your behalf: there is no account, no payment, no subscription and no server.

Using the app

You may install and use LexiFloat on any device you control, for as long as you like, personally or at work. You may not sell it, or present it as your own work.

Where do the words come from?

The definitions, examples and word relations are from Open English WordNet, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. That licence, and the note of what was changed, are on the About screen in the app and on the About page here. The dictionary content carries its own terms; the app around it is the publisher's.

What the dictionary is not

It is a general English dictionary built from a research lexicon. It has gaps, it will not have every word you look for, and a definition may be wrong or out of date. Do not rely on it for legal, medical, academic or professional decisions. It is offered as-is, with no warranty of accuracy or fitness for any particular purpose.

Your notes are yours

Anything you write in a note belongs to you. The publisher has no copy of it and no way to get one. The export feature exists so that leaving is as easy as arriving.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Dhruba Singha Roy is not liable for any loss arising from use of this app, including lost notes. Back up anything you would be sorry to lose — the export exists for exactly this.

Ending it

Uninstalling the app ends this agreement. Uninstalling also deletes your notebooks from the device, so export first if you want to keep them.

This website

The pages on lexifloat.com are published for information about the app. The text and the design are the publisher's; the dictionary entry shown as an example on the home page is WordNet content under CC BY 4.0, as above. Nothing here is a contract to supply the app to anyone, and closed testing is offered at the publisher's discretion.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes

Updated terms ship with an app update and the date below changes. Continuing to use a version you have installed keeps the terms it shipped with.
